    Experience

Red Mountain has extensive experience in energy strategy, energy efficiency, energy project development, and community outreach.

    • Energy Strategy: Red Mountain has completed several energy strategy development assignments for Tribes and inter-tribal partnerships in recent years. Each of our client Tribes offers varying challenges, differing energy-related resources, internal capabilities, economic development interests, and financial situations.  In each assignment, Red Mountain gathered the most relevant information for each client, identifying all available options, and provided those options to the Tribe for consideration. In this manner, we objectively evaluate each Tribe’s opportunities to support and generate sustainable energy solutions in a manner appropriate for its community culture and traditions.
    • Energy Efficiency: Red Mountain has completed several projects that focused on energy efficiency opportunities, identification of relevant energy and sustainability goals, and development of plans to achieve those goals. The energy efficiency efforts recommended focused on maximizing available resources to reduce energy usage and costs community-wide, in a manner consistent with the Tribes’ priorities, culture and traditions.
    • Renewable Energy Analysis and DevelopmentRed Mountain has completed numerous renewable energy feasibility studies, and provided support for roughly two-dozen renewable energy project development efforts.  While Red Mountain’s focus is on working with Tribes, its experience in supporting renewable energy projects spans both tribal and nontribal renewable energy projects, in Arizona, New Mexico, California, Montana, South and North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and New York.  In these projects, Red Mountain has supported project efforts utilizing wind, solar, biomass and geothermal technologies.
    • Community Outreach: The Red Mountain team has unparalleled experience in assessing and communicating complex energy issues and options to community groups, particularly Tribal communities.  We consider energy activities, and potential renewable energy project options through the lens of community acceptance.  This is a critical aspect of overall energy program and project success, particularly in Tribal communities that take seriously their long-term role as stewards of their land base.
